Instructions for Accu-Chek Instant Use

The Accu-Chek Instant Plus System has the ability to test both your glucose level and your cholesterol. Though it tests two different things, you can use the same test strip for either test, making it simpler to use. You will, however, need to perform one test at a time. The Accu-Chek Instant Plus also gives results quickly. It takes less than a minute for you to place the test drop of blood and read the results.

  Turn on the Accu-Chek Instant Plus. The word "Code" should flash on the screen. The code number, time and date should also appear on the screen.

  Remove a test strip from the vial. When holding the test strip, make sure you do not touch the yellow test pad or the read area.

  Place the test strip in the small slot located at the bottom of the meter while the cover is closed. Insert the test strip as far as it will go.

  Open the cover.

  Use a lancet device to prick your finger so that blood is drawn. Use a capillary pipette to place a drop of blood on the yellow test pad.

  Close the cover.

  View your results on the monitor.

  Open the cover. Remove and discard the test strip. Close the cover.
