Diabetes Research Grants

Diabetes research is significantly aided by foundation and research grants. Organizations donate money to help diabetes research groups find new cures or exciting breakthroughs to treat diabetes. The foundations raise millions of dollars per year for universities, scientific firms, and research bodies in the hope to find a treatment or cure for all types of diabetes.
  1. American Diabetes Association Research Foundation

    • The American Diabetes Association Research Foundation is the funding arm for diabetes research in the American Diabetes Association (ADA). All money donated to the Research Foundation is allocated to scientific endeavors to find a cure for diabetes. The grants are allocated between three main programs. The first program is the Core Research Program. The Core Research Program distributes funds ranging $100,000 to $1,000,000 to educational institutes and health research facilities studying diabetes. The second grant program utilizes money collected from donations to the Research Foundation and focuses on areas of research specified by the donors. The third program is set aside for general research that the ADA determines as possible fields of diabetes research. The third program utilizes funds at the ADA's own discretion.
