How to Use Ascensia Breeze

Living with diabetes is a daily responsibility. As a diabetic, you likely have to check your blood sugar multiple times a day. Fumbling with test strip vials can get clumsy, especially when your blood sugar is not as stable as it could be. The Ascensia Breeze meter includes a test strip disc inside that eliminates the need for vials of loose test strips. Proper testing is important for keeping your blood sugar levels consistent and protecting yourself from the health risks of low blood sugar.

Instructions

  1. Insert Test Strips

    • 1

Hold your meter with the display screen in the palm of your hand. Press the release button on the end of the meter and lift up the back cover.

    • 2

Confirm that the new test strip disc is within its useful life by checking the expiration printed on the package. Insert the disc into the meter with the yellow arrow facing up. The arrow can point anywhere as long as it is facing up.

    • 3

Close the meter by pressing down the back cover back until it clicks. Do not tilt the meter while closing it to avoid damaging the test strip disc.

    Testing Blood Sugar

    • 4

Wash your hands with soap and warm water. Dry your hands thoroughly with a clean, dry towel.

    • 5

Grab the handle at the base of the meter and pull it out away from the meter body. Push the handle back into place to express a test strip out the opposite end of your meter.

    • 6

Pierce your finger with the lancing device to gather a blood sample. Massaging the finger around the sample area may help the blood flow until a drop forms on top of your finger.

    • 7

Place the front edge of the test strip against the edge of the blood drop on your finger. The meter will beep once it has collected enough blood to test properly. Remove the strip from your finger when the meter beeps.

    • 8

Wait 30 seconds for your blood glucose test result to appear on the display screen. Make note of the reading for your logs, if you keep one. Press the release button at the top of the meter to clear the used test strip out of the meter.
