How to Calibrate a One Touch Ultra Mini

The OneTouch Ultra Mini is a small, compact way for diabetics to monitor blood glucose levels. Before using your OneTouch Ultra Mini the first time, or when you open a new vial of test strips, you need to calibrate the meter to the test strips. Calibration ensures that your meter produces the most accurate reading possible. When it comes to your blood sugar, an inaccurate meter can result in dosage miscalculations if you take insulin. Calibrate your meter as needed to protect your own health.

Watch for the code number to appear on the meter display. If the number on the display does not match the number on the vial or this is the first time you have used the meter, press the up or down arrow buttons on your meter until the number displayed on the screen matches the number on your test strip vial.

Check the control number displayed every time you insert a test strip, especially when changing to a new vial of test strips. Keeping your meter properly calibrated is crucial to accurate readings.
