Diabetes Patient Assistance Programs

There are a number of special assistance programs available for patients who have been diagnosed with diabetes. These assistance programs may offer financial benefits to help cover the costs of prescription drugs, or they may deliver free insulin, blood glucose meters and blood glucose test strips to patients who are struggling financially.
  1. Abbott Diabetes Patient Assistance Program

    • This assistance program helps with the donation and distribution of blood glucose meters to diabetes patients who are having difficulty making ends meet or on very low incomes. In 2006, the Abbott program distributed more than 3,500 blood glucose meters and 35,000 blood glucose strips to a large number of patients throughout the U.S. The value of these free services amounted to over $425,000.
