How to Use Ascensia
Ascencia is a line of Bayer Healthcare diabetes self-monitoring and glucose testing products. By testing the glucose levels in a small blood sample, people with diabetes can better manage their disease. The Ascencia line is designed to simplify the testing process by reading a sample taken from other parts of the hand and arm, instead of just from the fingertip, which can become painful. The Ascencia strips are pre-coded, so results are displayed within seconds for more accurate readings.Instructions

1
Gently remove the protective cap from the lancing device. Insert a fresh lancet into the meter. Gently push it into the device, until you hear a click. Remove the end cap to reveal the lancet.
-
2
Insert an Ascensia test strip, making sure the strip is fitted snugly. The meter will automatically turn on, indicating it is ready for your blood sample when the test strip is correctly inserted.
-
3
Hold the lancing device to your fingertip, or depending on your model of glucose meter, to a fleshy part of your palm or forearm. Press the button on the lancing device, to draw a small drop of blood.
-
4
Touch the tip of the testing strip to the drop of blood, until your meter beeps, indicating there is enough blood present to get a reading. Wait at least five seconds for a reading to appear on the meter.

Remove the test strip and discard it, after the reading appears. Remove the end cap from the lancet and insert the used lancet into the original lancet cap you removed earlier.
