Other remedies include exercising daily for about 30 minutes, which also helps in maintaining a healthy weight. You should also cut back on alcohol consumption and smoking as they can both cause negative effects if you suffer from type 2 diabetes. You can also benefit from learning to relax and get plenty of sleep every night, which can help the overall state of the body. There have also been a few studies that have shown that cinnamon and chromium help to improve insulin sensitivity; however, the studies do not show that the substances have an effect on controlling blood sugar levels and are not currently recommended in managing the symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
