      Apply lotion to your skin regularly, especially around the injection point. The more you moisturize your skin, the less likely it is that you will want to scratch, because the skin won't be so dry.

      Fill a bowl with warm to hot water.

      Soak the insulin shot in the bowl for one minute. Cool to cold insulin can cause you to itch because of the drastic temperature difference between the insulin and your 98.6 degree blood.
