How to Reverse Diabetes in 30 Days

The raw food diet and a special kind of macrobiotic diet are two ways to reverse diabetes in 30 days. Results aren't guaranteed as each case is specific. Individual variables are many (stress level, overall health condition, capacity to metabolize certain nutrients, allergies) and all play a significant role. These techniques apply primarily to type 2 diabetes. They can also be successful with type 1 depending on your specific case. These approaches are also beneficial to your general health and immune system.

Instructions

  1. Raw for 30 days

    • 1

Check with your doctor before changing your diet and/or any medications.

    • 2

Eat low-glycemic, vegan, organic, live raw foods for 30 days. Choose foods that are grown in a healthy way, with the least amount of chemicals as possible. Eat directly from nature. Drink green juices of your liking, which are low-glycemic and full of nutrients to strengthen your immune system.

    • 3

Avoid meat, dairy, caffeine, alcohol, refined foods, junk food, fast food, candy and sugar. Your body will not have to process complex fats and chemically unhealthy products and substances.

    • 4

Eat three meals and two/three snacks daily to maintain your metabolism.

Use your juicer to make leafy green, apple and ginger juices to snack on and cleanse your system. Choose your raw food combinations to make your juices maintain a low-glycemic content.

Use the blender for thicker raw smoothies and the food processor to blend raw foods to the thickness and consistency desired to add to salads and spreads.

    • 5

Exercise every day for 30 to 60 minutes, preferably a cardiovascular activity, like walking or running.

    Macrobiotic diet

    • 6

The main difference between this and the previous diet is that foods here are, for the most part, cooked. Also, the macrobiotic diet is based on the yin/yang principles applied to food and requires some basic understanding to obtain significant results.

Chew 100 to 200 times per mouthful. Well-chewed food allows all nutrients to be fully absorbed and minimizes the energy needed for the digestive process.

    • 7

Choose healthy, organic, unrefined, whole foods. Cook them and combine them according to the macrobiotic guidelines.

A pressure cooker can be used to cook grains and beans to the right degree while maintaining their strongest nutritional effect. Each type of grain, bean and vegetable must be cooked according to the macrobiotic guidelines.

    • 8

Avoid shellfish, all dairy foods, all animal food including red meat and red meat fish, all sweet foods and drinks, fruit, vinegar, tomatoes, potatoes, eggplant, melons and all mushrooms.

    • 9

Your daily nutrition must be low in fat and have protein and simple carbohydrates. Your main foods should include brown rice (short, medium or long grain), millet, buckwheat, and combinations of rice/millet/buckwheat, sweet brown rice, azuki beans and rice and gomashio (roasted sesame seeds and sea salt, in a 3-to-1 or 5-to-1 proportion). Several side dishes are available, like shio kombu (seaweed), tekka miso, kabucha and other winter squash, and miso pickles.

A particular version of the macrobiotic diet is designed to have a stronger effect in the reversal of diabetes.

George Ohsawa, one of the founders of macrobiotics and the one who spread its principles to the Western world, suggests his Macrobiotic Diet #7 to reverse diabetes. Maintain this diet for one to two weeks, and then move to a standard macrobiotic diet. This is a powerful cleansing diet, and you shuold check with your doctor before undertaking it.

Eat: Brown rice only with 100 grams of potimarron (kombucha squash) and 50 grams of azuki beans daily. Use your pressure cooker for best results.
