Avoid eating large quantities of gas-causing foods at one time. These include beans, peas, broccoli, cauliflower, artichokes, cabbage, raisins, prunes and apples. They contain hard-to-digest carbohydrates that ferment in the bowels.

Foods that don't cause flatulence are potatoes, rice, corn and wheat.

Avoid carbonated beverages as well as hot drinks.

Take your time while eating. Don't rush when you eat. Put your fork down between bites and be sure to chew food thoroughly.
