If you get food poisoning, drink a lot of water or powerade to help replace the fluids you have lost. A few hours after the episode if you think you can hold something down, try eating plain yogurt.

Yogurt contains good bacteria that will enter your digestive tract and fight off any bad bacteria that may be causing the food poisoning. After you eat yogurt wait a few hours and slowly start to eat easy-to-digest foods like toast and jello.

You should be fine if you do not eat too much. After a day or so you should be feeling better. If you do not feel better after a day, call your doctor.

To prevent food poisoning, do not eat food that has been sitting out for too long. If it has been sitting out for about 4 hours, that is all it takes for harmful bacteria to develop.
