Irritable Bowel Syndrome

Severe flatulence is one of the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). When accompanied by severe bloating and abdominal pain, flatulence may be caused by IBS, which is a serious gastrointestinal disorder.
Lighting Flatus

As a prank, some people have attempted to ignite their flatus (the gas itself). Without proper safety precautions, this foolhardy act can lead to severe burns on the buttocks and anus.
