Digestive Symptoms

Digestive stress can come from emotional or physical stress, poor diet, medications, environmental toxins or the overconsumption of processed foods.
  1. Peptic Ulcer

    • Peptic ulcers can cause lower back pain, choking sensations, itching, nausea and chronic burning or gnawing stomach pain that usually starts about an hour after eating (or at night) that is relieved by eating, antacids, vomiting or drinking a large glass of water.

    Indigestion

    • Indigestion can be a symptom of a disorder or it may be a disorder in itself. Symptoms include abdominal pain, allergic symptoms, belching, bloating, burning sensation after eating, joint and muscle pain, rumbling noises from abdomen, skin disorders and heartburn.

    Constipation

    • Constipation is difficulty in passing stools or infrequent passage of hard, dry stools. It can be caused by insufficient dietary fiber or fluids, lack of exercise, advanced age, muscle disorders, poor diet or side effects of iron supplements and some drugs.

    Irritable Bowel Syndrome

    • Irritable bowel syndrome can cause abdominal pain or spasms, diarrhea, constipation, gas, nausea, bloating, heartburn, anxiety, depression, bowel urgency or incontinence, chest pain, difficulty swallowing and urinary frequency.

    Colitis

    • Colitis or inflammation of the colon can cause diarrhea, sharp abdominal pain, rectal bleeding and frequent, urgent elimination during the day.
