Zantec Side Effects
Zantac treats stomach and intestinal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and other gastrointestinal conditions caused by excess stomach acid by reducing this acid. While Zantac is mostly safe to use, some of the more common adverse reactions include dizziness, constipation and diarrhea.-
Minor Side Effects

Zantac is well-tolerated by most patients. According to an article published in the March 1991 issue of Drug Safety, French researchers reported an overall incidence at less than two percent. The most common ailments included headaches, fatigue, dizziness, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation and nausea.
Rare Side Effects

Long term use of Zantac could lead to gynecomastia (breast enlargement and swelling) and impotence. Contact a doctor if instances of fatigue, arrhythmias, indicators of infection, bleeding, blood pressure, blood count changes, liver problems,and jaundicing of the skin or eyes occur.
Unlikely (and Extremely Rare) Side Effects

Blurry vision, motor disturbances, or mood or mental changes such as agitation, confusion, depression and hallucinations are extremely rare and primarily experienced by severely ill elderly patients. Call a doctor immediately.
Hypersensitivity Issues

Zantac could trigger allergic reactions in certain users and require immediate medical attention. Symptoms include rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling and extreme dizziness.
Adverse Reactions to Other Medications

Individuals suffering from blood disorders, kidney problems, liver disorders, or who take triazolam (Halcion) are discouraged from using this medication.
