Patients should not drive a car or operate machinery while on Biltricide (praziquantel) or the day after. Avoid grapefruit while taking this medication, and do not administer to children younger than 4.

    • Albenza (albendazole), manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, is another drug your doctor might prescribe. Each off-white tablet has 200 mg of albendazole.

      The dose will depend on your body weight, and the duration of the dosages will depend on the life cycle of the particular worm you have. The recommended dosage is taken two times a day. Albenza (albendazole) is know to have negative drug interactions with dexamethasone, praziquantel, cimetidine and theophylline.

    • According to Purdue University, pomegranate can be a natural treatment to cure tapeworm. Pomegranate is an anthelmintic, which means it expels worms in the digestive system. For this remedy, boil the peel of the pomegranate and use the remaining infusion. It contains almost one-third tannins, which is what destroy the parasites.
