Side Effects of Salofalk

Salofalk is a prescription medication that is used for the treatment and management of various digestive diseases, particularly ulcerative colitis. It functions from the inside of the bowel by lessening inflammation as well as various other symptoms that result from the condition. As with any type of prescription medication, some negative side effects could occur from use of Salofalk.

  1. Common Minor Side Effects

    Uncommon Side Effects

    • There are some uncommon side effects of Salofalk that, should they occur, require immediate medical assistance. These potentially harmful uncommon side effects are fever, bloody diarrhea, severe stomach cramps, skin rash, itchiness and headache. If you experience any of these symptoms, you should also stop taking the medicine.

    Rare and Severe Side Effects

    • Rare and severe side effects could result from Salofalk use. These side effects require immediately help from medical personnel, and you should also stop taking the drug immediately. Serious side effects are nervousness, anxiety, pale or blue complexion, weakness, exhaustion, jaundice (skin or eyes), stomach swelling, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, nausea, throwing up, chills and chest ache (which could possible spread to other parts of the body, such as the shoulder, neck or the left arm).

    Overdose

    • If an individual suspects that she might have overdosed on Salofalk, she should seek immediate emergency medical help. Some signs of Salofalk overdose are feeling lightheaded, dizziness, extreme diarrhea, disorientation, confusion, deep or rapid breathing, heavy drowsiness, loss of hearing, buzzing or ringing in the ears, and severe headache.
