Senna

• Bowtrol contains the herb senna, a powerful laxative that can cause severe abdominal cramping if taken for more than seven consecutive days.

Liver Toxicity

• Senna can also cause an electrolyte imbalance, nausea and rash. Senna has also been linked to liver toxicity.

Considerations

• Do not take Bowtrol if you have Chron's disease without first talking to your doctor, as nutrient loss can occur.

Warning

• Large amounts of senna can cause esophageal impaction and gastrointestinal problems. Always consult your physician if you experience discomfort.
