Signs & Symptoms of H Pylori Infection
Helicobacter pylori are spiral-shaped bacteria that can cause stomach and intestinal ulcers. The bacteria is able to penetrate the stomach's protective lining, allowing acid to damage the stomach wall and the first part of the small intestine.-
No Symptoms

Most people infected with H. pylori bacteria never have any symptoms and do not develop ulcers or other problems related to the infection, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Initial Symptoms

People who do experience symptoms may initially experience an aching, dull, gnawing or burning abdominal pain. The pain might be intermittent for several days or weeks.
Empty Stomach

Stomach pain associated with H. pylori infection may occur two to three hours after eating, or whenever the stomach is empty. This pain might wake the person during sleep. It typically can be relieved by eating.
Additional Symptoms

Other H. pylori infection symptoms can include frequent burping, bloating, nausea, vomiting and weight loss.
Serious Signs

Serious signs associated with H. pylori infection include severe or persistent abdominal pain and difficulty swallowing. Signs of a bleeding ulcer caused by the infection include black tarry stools, bloody stools, bloody vomit or vomit that looks like coffee grounds.
