Aloe Vera Juice for Detoxification
The aloe vera plant is a great source of vitamins and minerals. By incorporating the leaves and juices into your diet, you can detox the body daily and increase immune system and digestive health. The following strategies will demonstrate how you can blend aloe vera leaves or use an aloe vera extract for detoxification.-
Aloe Vera Drink Options
-
Aloe Vera provides Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, B12, C and E, along with Folic Acid and Niacin. Used for centuries as a natural detoxification agent, aloe vera removes toxins from the body and supports general health. It is effective when consumed alone as a beverage or when mixed with other fruits and vegetables. For a refreshing aloe vera drink, add 3 slices of the leaves, 1 tablespoon of honey, 4 ice cubes, a splash of cranberry juice and a splash of fresh lemon juice. Place all the ingredients into a blender or juicer and blend until smooth. This aloe vera drink will complement any mid-afternoon snack and can be served with a plate of vegetables.

Aloe vera leaves can be added to salads or sprinkled over steamed vegetables. Add a handful of romaine lettuce and baby green spinach. Mix in a bowl, sprinkling in a splash of olive oil as you swirl the bowl around (a mixing spoon or tongs can also be used to complete this step). Add pine nuts and continue to mix. Chop a small avocado and sprinkle in. Top with 3 to 4 slices of aloe vera leaves. Add additional spices like thyme or minced garlic (fresh garlic can also be used). Serve with an aloe vera juice. There are a number of options. You can use an aloe vera juice extract and blend it with raw fruits like kiwi, lemon and melon. Or you can buy aloe vera juice and pour it over a glass of crushed ice.

Add aloe vera to detox recipes like raw or steamed vegetables, beans or pasta. Broccoli, cauliflower and tomatoes are great vegetable options for any detoxification program. Eat raw or steamed for a healthy meal or snack. Kidney beans, pinto beans, mung beans, garbanzo beans (chickpeas) and adzuki beans are great bean options. Each promotes elimination and supports digestive health. Wheat-free pasta with artichokes and olives is a great pasta option. Serve and sprinkle with aloe vera leaves for a great meal or snack. Serve with aloe vera juice. You can either use a commercial brand of the juice, or add 10 to 12 leaves to 1 gallon of water. Stir and serve. (The gallon of water can be substituted with apple juice, orange juice or pineapple juice.)
