Anti-Diarrheal Medications
-
Anti-Diarrheal medications such as Imodium AD may be used to temporarily treat diarrhea.
Drink Clear Liquids
-
While experiencing diarrhea, clear liquids such as water, juices and broths should be consumed regularly. Do not drink pear or apple juice, though, because they may make the diarrhea even worse.
Prescription Medications

A doctor may prescribe antibiotics if he/she determines that the diarrhea is bacterial in nature.
Eat Carefully

It is recommended solid foods be introduced back into the diet slowly. Good choices to begin with include crackers, toast, rice, chicken and eggs.
