Juice Extractor Recipes for Constipation

Constipation is a problem that plagues everyone at some point in their life. Often caused by diet or medications, constipation can bring your world to a halt. Symptoms range from bloating and cramping to a constant urge to defecate without results. Chemical laxatives and bulk fiber are often used to relieve these symptoms, but often come with painful side effects. There is no need to suffer. Get out your juice extractor and try some of the following recipes.
  1. Strawberry Rhubarb Delight

    • Rhubarb is traditionally used for making pies, but this plant is an excellent source of magnesium, a great natural cure for constipation.
      You will need one pint of strawberries, four stalks of rhubarb, two cups of ice, and sweetener.
      Thoroughly clean your strawberries and remove the stems. Wash your rhubarb in cold water and cut off one inch from the top and one inch from the bottom.
      Put your fruit and ice through the juicer. Rhubarb has a tart taste, so add sweetener to taste before drinking.
      This is best consumed cold.
      Try sipping the mixture slowly over two hours, adding ice as needed.

    Apricot Chill

    • The mighty little apricot is a strong ally when it comes to fighting constipation. Rich in calcium and magnesium, they are a perfect choice for a natural cure.
      You will need two of your favorite variety of oranges, four apricots, real almond extract, nutmeg.
      If your machine does not require peeling your fruit, juice your oranges whole along with your apricots. Add two drops of real almond extract and add a very light sprinkle of nutmeg. Stir and drink.
      This drink is tasty warm and can be diluted with water to make an iced cocktail for any occasion.

    Tropical Fruit Basket

    • When we think of taking medicines, it's a rarity to think of something tasty and fun to drink. The following recipe will change your mind. Each of the items included helps fight constipation when consumed alone, but when combined, they make for a powerful, but gentle force.
      You need one cup of cut and peeled coconut, 1/2 of a peeled and cored pineapple, a pitted mango, a pitted papaya, 10-20 green seedless grapes, six to ten pitted prunes, a peeled orange and several cups of crushed ice.
      Juice all your ingredients into a pitcher. Chill in the refrigerator.
      Mix well before serving over crushed ice.
      This drink can be diluted with 1/2 cup of water and frozen into ice treats for children. This is an easy way to trick them into taking their medicine or can serve as a treat for yourself.
