1
Apply witch hazel, aloe vera juice or apple cider vinegar to the hemorrhoid, using a soft clean pad. These astringents will help stop the bleeding and prevent infection.
-
2
Apply an ice pack to help reduce the swelling and inflammation as well as relieve pain. Apply ice for 15 minutes, then remove it for 15 minutes. Do this several times a day as required.
-
3
Apply neem oil to keep your anal area soft and elastic. Neem oil, which comes from a tree in India, is frequently used for skin problems.
-
4
Apply hemorrhoidal cream to help reduce swelling and inflammation, preferably one with an anesthetic to relieve itching, burning and pain.
-
5
Use disposable baby wipes when you have a bowel movement to clean yourself more gently than with toilet paper.
-
6
Sit on a hemorrhoid cushion---a donut shaped cushion---to relieve pressure on your hemorrhoids.
