Watch for one of the first signs that something isn't right with the body, and the digestive tract in particular; constipation.

Be aware for any new or sudden development when you or another person feels chronic fatigue or tiredness, and may or may not be pale in color.

Look at your stools. Are they normal in color or are they black and tarry looking? Black and tarry looking stools are a major indication that all is not right with the intestinal tract and should be discussed with your family care provider.

Get on the scale. Have you suffered a sudden and unexplained weight loss?

Watch for signs of nausea that may or may not develop into vomiting.

Be especially vigilant in watching for signs of jaundice. This will be apparent with those with yellowish skin and eyes.
