• Warm water
• Oxygenating mouthwash

Removing Tonsil Stones With a Cotton Swab

  Moisten the cotton swab with water. Be sure it's not dripping wet.

  Hold your mirror and small flashlight in the same hand in front of your face with your mouth wide open so you can see well into the back of your throat.

  Sweep each tonsil crypt where you see or feel tonsil stones hiding. Be sure you don't push the stones further into your tonsil crypts. You can also gently poke the outer fold of the tonsil crypt to force out stones.

  Rinse and gargle with an oxygenating mouthwash once you've successfully removed each stone seen or felt.

Removing Tonsil Stones With an Oral Irrigator

  Fill the reservoir of your oral irrigator with lukewarm water.

  Open your mouth wide and look into the mirror with a flashlight so you can locate any visible tonsil stones.

  Turn on your oral irrigator and set to its lowest setting.

  Irrigate your tonsil crypts with the water that pulsates from your oral irrigator. This should flush out the tonsil stones you saw earlier.

  Rinse and gargle with an oxygenating mouthwash once you have satisfactorily removed each tonsil stone.
