What happens to the digested product after digestion is completed?

Once digestion is complete, the digested products, which are simple nutrients like amino acids, fatty acids, and monosaccharides, are absorbed into the bloodstream. This absorption process occurs in the small intestine, which is lined with tiny finger-like projections called villi. The villi increase the surface area of the small intestine, allowing for efficient absorption of nutrients.

After absorption, the nutrients are transported to different parts of the body through the bloodstream. These nutrients serve as the building blocks for various cellular processes, such as energy production, growth, repair, and synthesis of new molecules. Any undigested material, along with water and electrolytes, forms the waste products that eventually leave the body as feces through defecation.
