What are the final product of protein digestion?
The final products of protein digestion are amino acids. Proteins are large molecules made up of chains of amino acids. During digestion, these proteins are broken down into smaller and smaller peptides by enzymes called proteases. These peptides are then further broken down into individual amino acids by other enzymes called peptidases. The amino acids are then absorbed into the bloodstream and used by the body to build new proteins or for other metabolic processes.
