Where do the circulatory and digestive system meet?

The circulatory and digestive systems meet at the level of the capillaries in the villi of the small intestine. The capillaries are the smallest blood vessels that form networks to allow for the exchange of substances between the blood and the surrounding tissues. In the case of the small intestine, the capillaries are located within the villi, which are finger-like projections that line the inner wall of the small intestine.
