Where protein digestion is completed?
Protein digestion is completed in the small intestine.
Once the stomach has broken down the protein into smaller peptides, these peptides are transported to the small intestine. In the small intestine, the pancreas secretes enzymes such as trypsin, chymotrypsin, and elastase, which further break down the peptides into individual amino acids. These amino acids are then absorbed into the bloodstream and transported to the liver, where they are used to synthesize new proteins or broken down for energy.
