What is stimulated in the stomach when food going to enter it?

When the presence of food in the mouth triggers signals to the brain that are responsible for the cephalic phase of gastric activation, these messages are conveyed from the brain to the stomach through the vagus nerve. As a result, the stomach increases the production of gastric secretions and also stimulates certain types of movements to prepare itself to receive the food that is about to enter.
