What are the vessels involved in supplying and draining blood from small large intestines?
Arterial Supply
Celiac Trunk: Arises from the abdominal aorta and supplies blood to the foregut derivatives (foregut gives rise to the esophagus, stomach, proximal duodenum, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas).
Superior Mesenteric Artery: Arises from the abdominal aorta and supplies blood to the midgut derivatives (midgut gives rise to the rest of the small intestine, proximal half of the transverse colon, and cecum).
Inferior Mesenteric Artery: Arises from the abdominal aorta and supplies blood to the hindgut derivatives (hindgut gives rise to the descending colon, sigmoid colon, rectum, and upper part of anal canal).
