Motilium is used to tighten muscles at the entry way of the stomach and relax muscles at the bottom. It increases muscle contraction to speed up the digestive process. This medicine also relieves nausea by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain.

Motilium should only be used by pregnant and breastfeeding women if a physician considers the medication to be essential to the mother's health. This medicine should not be used by people who are lactose intolerant as it has lactose as an ingredient. Motilium should also not be used by children, people with low kidney function, and patients with perforations in the stomach.
