How to Get Orthotics
Orthotics are devices designed to support or correct an imperfection in a limb or torso. Scientists have even developed cognitive orthotics to correct cognitive functions. There are complex orthotics that help people recover from strokes, spinal cord injury, spina bifida and cerebral palsy. Foot orthotics aid people in getting the greatest use from muscles, tendons and bones in the feet.Instructions

1
Consult a podiatrist if you have pain in your hips, knees and lower back. Examination of your feet and a diagnosis made after x-rays has the potential to give you a pain-free life.
-
2
Get your own personal orthotics. They are not universal. In order to get orthotics, each person needs to be examined and molds made of the body part in need.
-
3
Approach your podiatrist about a plaster of Paris mold of your feet or other limbs that need orthotics. This mold is a reference point as years go by and your body changes. From the molds, arches for feet or prostheses for other limbs are made.

4
Plan for your future. Your orthotics won't last forever. In order to get orthotics you will have to pay up front and wait for reimbursement from your insurance company if they pay at all.

5
Regain your life free of pain by wearing your orthotics daily. The more you wear your prescribed and personally designed orthotics you will become stronger, with more mobility.
