What should severs do to avoid over service?
To avoid over-servicing customers, servers should:
1. Be mindful of the customer's body language and facial expressions. If a customer seems distracted, disinterested, or in a rush, it may be best to give them some space and let them enjoy their meal without interruption.
2. Pay attention to the customer's drink refills. If the customer's drink looks full they have not drank it, there is no need to refill it. They may not wish for a refill and refilling it could be wasting beverage unnecessarily.
3. Avoid interrupting the customer's conversation. If the customer is engaged in conversation with their dining companions, it is best to wait until they have finished before speaking to them.
4. Be respectful of the customer's privacy. This includes not hovering over the customer's table, eavesdropping on their conversation, or asking them personal questions.
5. Give the customer a chance to enjoy their meal. Don't rush the customer through their meal, and don't clear their plates until they are finished eating.
6. Be genuine and sincere in your interactions with the customer. Customers can tell when a server is being fake or insincere, and this can lead to a negative experience.
