How to Help Someone out of a Wheelchair
Caring for an individual in a wheelchair can be a demanding task that can cause a lot of stress. This is especially true if one does not have any experience when caring for a disabled person bound to a wheelchair. However, when one knows how to care for a wheelchair-bound person, the task does becomes easier. Lock the wheels of the wheelchair. Once it is locked, grab the person by the waist and allow him to wrap his arms around you. Once you are holding him securely, help him to slide to the front of the wheelchair.

Sit your knees against the other person's knees and ask him to lean to the front of the chair. Grab under his armpits and push up, making sure you push up with your legs and not your back. Once he is standing, you will need to sit him down somewhere comfortable.

Wrap your arms around the person and walk him to a comfortable location such as bed or comfortable chair. Once you are next to his seat slowly lean forward with your arms still wrapped around him and sit him in the comfortable location.
