    Fibrosis

    • Fibrosis causes scar tissue on the liver after it has been inflamed for an extended amount of time. The scar tissue will prevent the liver from repairing itself and prevent the flow of blood through it.

    Cirrhosis

    • After fibrosis, cirrhosis quickly follows in the next stage of liver disease. Cirrhosis usually causes jaundice; the skin and eyes will turn yellow.
