Some signs of potentially harmful side effects of the medicine include yellowing of the eyes or of the skin, abnormal sweating, throwing up, lack of response to surroundings, irregular or faster heartbeat, muscle ache, convulsions, paranoia, abnormal skin growths, changes in the appearance of moles, difficulty with sleeping, painful or abnormal facial, tongue, mouth, leg or arm movements, mood or mental changes, hallucinations, fever, depression, suicidal thoughts, passing out, chest ache, confusion, disorientation and dark urine.

Some signs of allergic reaction to Stalevo are swelling of the lips, mouth, tongue or face, problems with breathing, chest tightness, skin rash, itchiness and breaking out into hives.
Caution

Stalevo is not appropriate for everybody. People who have experienced allergic reactions to levodopa, carbidopa or entacapone should not take the medicine. Also, people who have a history of melanoma or who have glaucoma should not take Stalevo, and neither should those who have moles or skin lesions that remain undiagnosed.
Overdose

If a person thinks that he might have overdosed on Stalevo, he should immediately seek medical assistance, as it could have very serious consequences (including hospitalization). Some symptoms of Stalevo overdose include low blood pressure, mental disruptions, abdominal ache, fast heartbeat, loose stools and psychosis.
