Natural Candida Cure

Candida, also known as a yeast infection, is when the pH balance of the vagina is higher or lower than normal, causing yeast production to multiply. The surefire sign of a yeast infection is thick, cottage cheese-like discharge in the vagina, burning while urinating, and internal itching that gets worse at night. If you think you have a yeast infection, there are several steps that you can take at home in order to cure your candida before calling a doctor.
  1. Yogurt Remedies

    • Yogurt contains active cultures that maintain yeast and prevent it from multiplying. Yogurt can be both eaten and used as an internal remedy. Eat two cups of plain yogurt every day, and drink plenty of water to flush the yeast out of your system. Take an unused tampon, remove it from the wrapper and applicator, and coat it thoroughly with plain yogurt and place it inside your vagina with your fingers. Wash your hands thoroughly and leave the tampon in for three hours. Remove the tampon and place a new yogurt-covered tampon in three times a day.

    Acidophilus Remedies

    • Acidophilus contains active cultures in the same way yogurt does, but it comes in a caplet form. The caplets can be opened and the powder can be poured directly under the tongue or placed into the vagina. Acidophilus can be purchased at your local drugstore or health food store and should be purchased with a strength of 2 million CFUs, or colony-forming units, which refers to the active cultures in the acidophilus. Take two caplets with a full glass of water every night, and insert two caplets directly into the vagina. The outer coating of the caplets will melt inside the vagina and the acidophilus will fight the yeast and prevent it from multiplying.

    When to See a Doctor

    • If you have been using both home remedies above and still do not have any relief from symptoms after two weeks, go to the grocery store or drugstore to purchase a yeast infection home treatment kit like Monistat 7. After one week, if the yeast infection treatment has not reduced the severity of your symptoms, see a doctor for antifungal pills or cream. Your doctor will first prescribe an antifungal cream to see if you see any results from this treatment. If you still have no results, antifungal pills will be given to you by your doctor. Antifungal pills are available by prescription are used for the most severe yeast infections.
