Instructions

-
1
Be aware of digestive problems such as lack of appetite, weight loss and nausea. These are among the first signs of liver damage.
-
2
Watch for the emergence of tiny broken veins just underneath the skin, or bruising that seems to happen too easily. Itching may also occur, starting with the hands and feet and eventually spreading throughout the body.
-
3
Cirrhosis may also cause weakness, fatigue or loss of interest in sex. In some cases, mental confusion may accompany other symptoms.
-
4
In later stages, jaundice may set in. Symptoms include yellowing of the skin and eyes and urine as dark as cola.
-
5
Late-stage abdominal problems may include bleeding in the esophagus and/or the intestines as well as swelling of the abdomen, from the buildup of fluids. The legs and feet may also swell.
