How can impetigo cause other diseases?

Impetigo, while highly contagious, does not directly cause other diseases. However, due to its nature as a skin infection, improper personal hygiene or failure to follow proper medical advice and hygiene instructions while affected by impetigo can lead to several complications, secondary infections, and the worsening of pre-existing skin conditions. Impetigo itself does not evolve into other distinct diseases.
