What is the mortality rate of Mononucleosis?

Mononucleosis, commonly known as mono or glandular fever, is a common viral infection that usually leads to a full recovery. The mortality rate of mononucleosis is extremely low, estimated to be less than 0.1%. The majority of cases are mild and resolve on their own within a few weeks. However, in rare instances, severe complications can occur, such as rupture of the spleen, encephalitis, or myocarditis, which can potentially be fatal.
