How to Kill Ringworm on Household Objects
One in every three people in the US suffers from a skin disease, such as ringworm, that can be easily spread to others. Ringworm is a contagious fungal infection that develops and grows on the outermost layer of skin. Contrary to popular belief, ringworm has nothing to do with a worm growing under the skin. It is a rash that has a circular, red and inflamed area that surrounds healthy looking skin. It is very important to prevent the spread of ringworm through contact with every day surfaces and objects that may already be infected.Things You'll Need

Treating Household Objects and Surfaces
-
1
Put on latex gloves and fill a bucket or empty container with soap and hot water. Soak a clean towel in the solution and use it to wipe down household objects or surfaces that may be contaminated.
-
2
Wash the towel thoroughly of soap after cleaning the objects or the surface, and dispose of the water. Rinse the container and refill it with only hot water.
-
3
Soak the same towel in the bucket or container and use it to rinse and wipe the object again. Dispose of the water after the object or the targeted surface has been rinsed.
-
4
Allow time for the objects or the surface to dry. It is very important that they are thoroughly cleaned before applying the bleach, because it will not kill the spores if there is still dirt present.
-
5
Repeat the process in step one through step four two more times.
-
6
Dilute bleach in a clean bucket with one part bleach to 10 parts hot water. Be sure the object or the surface will not be damaged if it is bleached.
-
7
Soak a clean towel into the solution. Wipe down the household object or the infected area. In order to kill the spores from the ringworm, wait for the items or area to stay wet for 10 minutes.
