How to Kill Aspergillus Mold

Aspergillus is a common mold that is found almost everywhere in our environment. There are approximately 185 to 200 different species of Aspergillus and approximately 20 of these are known to be harmful, causing aspergillosis. Macrophages have proven to be very effective at killing Aspergillus. The killing of Aspergillus is done by obtaining cells that eat microbes, like Aspergillus.

Get a sample of Aspergillus spores.

    • 2

      Get a sample of macrophages.

    • 3

Place the Aspergillus spores under your magnifying device. Take a look at the spores to make sure you can view them.

    • 4

Add the macrophages to the Aspergillus spores.

    • 5

Watch the cell activity carefully. You will see the macrophages surround the Aspergillus spores. The Aspergillus spore will end up inside of the macrophage; it is being eaten.
