- Laboratory with a secure, safe environment for studying Aspergillus spores
- Alveolar macrophages
- Aspergillus spores
- Microscope or a magnifying device that allows you to view the activity of microorganisms

Get a sample of Aspergillus spores.

Get a sample of macrophages.

Place the Aspergillus spores under your magnifying device. Take a look at the spores to make sure you can view them.

Add the macrophages to the Aspergillus spores.

Watch the cell activity carefully. You will see the macrophages surround the Aspergillus spores. The Aspergillus spore will end up inside of the macrophage; it is being eaten.
Once the Aspergillus spore has been eaten it has been killed.
