1
Tell you friends and family about your decision to stop smoking, so that you have their support. Surround yourself with people who do not smoke.
-
2
Set a date for when you will quit smoking. Prior to your date, get rid of all your black and milds. Dispose of them in a location that you normally do not go so that you will not be tempted to retrieve them.
-
3
Supplant smoking with hobbies or activities that you enjoy doing. Recognize what triggers your desire to smoke. Instead of smoking try exercise, read, eat, listen to music, etc. Try to keep yourself occupied.

Try using a nasal spray or chewing gum that will suppress the nicotine cravings. Also, consider using a nicotine patch.
-
5
Begin to eat a well-balance diet and get adequate hours of sleep. Eat more fruits, vegetables and drink plenty of water. Try to get eight hours of sleep a night.
