How to Find Drug Rehab for Mothers
Instructions

-
1
Contact your doctor or insurer. Your physician may know of rehabs in your area that cater to mothers, and your insurance company can let you know what coverage you have and if there are rehabs for parents they will pay for. Your obstetrician, psychiatrist or your child's pediatrician may also be able to make a referral.
-
2
Contact your county or state's substance abuse division. Someone will advise you on what county or state resources you may be eligible for, including Medicaid-funded rehab treatment, as well as refer you to any rehabs in your area for mothers.
-
3
Ask your county's division of social services if you are eligible for a caseworker. Your county may have services for drug addiction or for low-income parents. If you meet certain income restrictions and have small children, you may be assigned a caseworker who can guide you and assist you in finding a rehab program for mothers, as well as assist you with welfare and other benefits, if applicable.

Visit the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator website (see Resources). Click on the "Detailed Search" link. Enter your city and state or zip code. Search specifically for facilities that offer services for pregnant and postpartum women or that have residential beds for children by checking the boxes next to those services.
