Alcohol Rehabilitation Program Centers

A sure sign of an alcoholic is the need to drink to handle everyday life. A structured facility offers programs such as the 12-step program. A supportive facility offers individual treatment as well as group treatment. A balanced center offers continued support through support groups after the clinical treatment has ended. The cost of the treatment depends on the length of the program and the type of treatment selected.
  1. Betty Ford Center

    • At the Betty Ford Center, the inpatient treatment program lasts for 30 days. Treatment cost is $26,000. Adults 18 and older are welcome. Detoxification, clinical and medical assessments are a part of the inpatient program. Located in Rancho Mirage, California, residents live according to gender. Additional programs are available for those needing extended detoxification or stabilization before admittance to the residential day treatment program.

The center assigns each patient a physician, nurse, dietitian, case manager and counselors during treatment. Daily activities include individual therapy, specialty groups, education lectures and fitness. Patients go through a 12-step recovery. Family participation is encouraged. Patients completing a 90-day program receive an additional year of monitoring at no additional cost.

    Grace House

    • The Grace House is the only treatment center in New Orleans exclusively for women. The Grace House mission is to help women who are dependent on alcohol and other chemical-based substances. They help the women lead productive sober lives. Treatment is 12-step based and is provided regardless of the resident's ability to pay.

The treatment program is a six-month program. During the first three months, residents must participate in individual and group therapy. The therapy is according to their individualized treatment plan. The women have case managers to assist them. Grace House provides residents with parenting classes, relapse prevention programs and life skills training. They also help the women find permanent housing.

The second half of treatment consists of training to help the women reenter society as productive members. The women receive educational and skills training so they can seek sustainable employment. After completing the program, the women are encouraged to participate in weekly support groups and the alumni association.

    Bridge House

    • The Bridge House, a substance abuse treatment center, admits those with a desire to change. Bridge House is a male-only center. The Bridge House accepts all males regardless of their ability to pay, sexual preference or race. Everyone from the homeless to indigent community members is welcome.

Therapy includes the 12-step recovery system of Alcoholics Anonymous. To offset the cost of the program, the Bridge House owns and operates two thrift stores. The proceeds from the thrift stores support the programs. All donations are tax deductible.

In addition to providing free programs, the Bridge House serves the community by providing holiday dinners for the homeless as well as providing lunch for the homeless every Tuesday and Thursday.
