Sober Living Regulations

No Drugs or Alcohol

No inhabitant is allowed to bring drugs or alcohol into a sober-living home. Some homes may subject inhabitants to random tests and screenings for use of drugs or alcohol. Inhabitants may not bring drugs, weapons or alcohol into the facility. Such activities can be cause for immediate discharge.
Keep Premises Clean

It is every inhabitant's responsibility to keep themselves and their surroundings clean. Inhabitants are expected to shower daily and keep their rooms clean. They must also do their own laundry and wash bedding regularly.
Complete Daily Chores

Sober-living homes require all inhabitants to be occupied in some constructive activity. A list of chores is put up on a daily basis and different tasks are assigned to each occupant. All inhabitants must complete their assigned chores.
Be Respectful of Others

An occupant of a sober-living home must be kind and courteous to all others residents. Any form of threatening behavior or abuse is taken very seriously. This could result in immediate discharge and the home may initiate legal proceedings against the perpetrator. Behavior like stealing or damaging property will also result in discharge.
Only Platonic Relationships

Occupants of sober-living homes are discouraged from forming romantic relationships with others during their stay. Most sober-living homes will discharge occupants who indulge in inappropriate behavior.
Limited Visitors and Phone Calls

Sober-living homes allow only a limited number of visitors during specified times. The visitors may meet the occupants in certain areas of the home. They may be prevented from entering private rooms.
Follow Curfew Times

Inhabitants of sober-living home are allowed to visit family on weekends or other times of the week. This bonus is only available to inhabitants who follow home rules and behave well. An inhabitant who leaves the home must return within the allowed time limit. Failure to return or contact the management can result in discharge.
