Programs for Mothers With Substance Abuse
When the mother of a child has substance abuse problems, she can negatively impact the lives of both. To get assistance, the mother may need to get involved in a flexible treatment program that lets her bring her child. A variety of programs help both the mother and the family.-
Spectrum Health Systems

Spectrum Health Systems created Giblin House in 2010 as a facility for women and children. The House, on Spectrum's Westborough Treatment Campus, offers treatment programs for women seeking help to deal with drug and alcohol addiction. A patient lives in the facility with her children and has an opportunity to rebuild her life while learning to care for her children. The facility has space for 26 court-involved women. Patients at Giblin House stay for an average of nine months.

Veritas
-
Veritas realizes that substance abuse problems can be a wrecking ball in many families. Veritas created the Young Mothers, Infants and Toddlers residential program in 1993 to provide substance abuse treatment for the entire family instead of just the person suffering from addiction. The program helps children to grow up in a drug-free environment while their mother works to beat her addiction and learn to care for her children. Veritas also offers a Family Outpatient program for women with a substance abuse problem and who are in the child welfare system.

The staff at Stepping Stone Center for Recovery concentrates on family addiction treatment in a four-day family program for all family members. In this program, a counselor works with the entire family to determine the effects of living with addiction and the family member who has the addiction. After this program, Stepping Stone Center for Recovery provides relapse prevention and addiction treatment programs for patients on an inpatient or outpatient basis. The center also offers a Women's Drug Rehab program structured to meet the specific needs of women.
