Rehab Work Programs
Rehabilitation, the process of helping someone improve and recover lost function after an illness, injury or addiction, can also refer to helping someone recover from criminal behavior and mental illness or a traumatic experience, according to Harold Herschel, author of "Healing the Addicted Brain." Rehabilitation work programs assist an individual return to the workforce during rehabilitation and ensures the worker continues receiving treatment. Different rehab programs exercise different methods, but the goal remains the same, sending the worker back to work healthy.-

Psychiatrists conduct a comprehensive evaluation and there is a functional evaluation by the rehabilitation team, according to National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Programs Officials, author of "Designing Rehab Programs." The psychiatrist devises a post-discharge plan to assist with the outpatient, day and home based treatments the client receives once returning back to work.
