How to Secure BTE Hearing Aids
A BTE hearing aid is simply a hearing aid that sits "behind the ear." This is a common design for hearing aids and is an alternative to models that sit within the ear or in the ear canal. Those who require hearing aids may opt for BTE hearing aids because they can be more secure and less likely to fall out than other hearing aid models. BTE hearing aids are also the most commonly prescribed style of hearing aid for children because they tend to sit more securely and provide better amplification than other models.Things You'll Need

1
Stand in front of the mirror. Be sure you have a clear view of your ear so that you can see what you are doing with the hearing aid.
-
2
Place the hearing aid over the ear like a pair of over-the-ear headphones or the frame of a pair of glasses.
-
3
Take the ear mold and place it securely in the ear. The mold should be fitted specifically to your ear shape, so be sure you are inserting it so that its curves align with the curves of your ear.
-
4
Ensure the tone hook is securely connected to the ear mold and the hearing aid. This will help keep the ear mold in the ear.
