Wipe the body of your ReSound Dot hearing aids with a clean damp cloth to clean dirt and debris from the surface.

    • 2

Brush the top of the hearing aid body to remove dirt that may block the microphone openings.

    • 3

Wipe the receiver and the receiver dome with a clean damp cloth to remove earwax.

    • 4

Inspect the tip of the dome under a bright light and brush the tip of the dome to remove any particles of earwax.

    • 5

Remove the dome and inspect the HF3 wax filter. Use the brush to clear earwax.

Replacing the ReSound Dot HF3 wax filter

    • 6

If you are unable to completely clear the earwax from the wax filter you may replace it with the blue HF3 tool by twisting the metal end into the wax filter 1-1/2 turns clockwise.

    • 7

The wax filter should pull out of the receiver. If not, then repeat Step 1.

    • 8

Insert the wax filter into the center of the wax filter package. Slide the tool to the side then pull the tool so that the filter remains within the package.

    • 9

To remove a new wax filter from the package, rotate the clear plastic dial until you see the filter through the opening.

    • 10

Take the plastic end of the blue HF3 tool and press it down firmly into the filter.

    • 11

Pull the tool straight up. The new wax filter should cling to the end.

    • 12

Gently press the new filter straight into the tip of the receiver then slide the HF3 tool to the side while you pull the tool away.

    • 13

Press the new wax filter into the receiver to make certain that it is securely in place.

    Replacing the receiver dome

    • 14

You may replace the dome if you are unable to completely clear the earwax or it is stiff or brittle. Carefully pull off the dome with your thumb and forefinger then properly dispose of it.

    • 15

Place the open tube section of the new receiver dome over the end of the receiver and gently push until it stops.

    • 16

Press the tip of the dome over the receiver to make certain that it is securely fastened.

    Clean the battery compartment

    • 17

Open the battery door and remove the size 10A battery.

    • 18

Inspect the interior of the battery door for dirt and rust. Use a cotton-tipped stick to clean the door.

    • 19

Replace the battery if the battery appears rusty or green. Your hearing aid may be affected by humidity, moisture, or perspiration.
